Secret Diary of a Call Girl 2
From the successful and scandalous memoir Belle du Jour comes the second series of the story of callgirl Belle, played by former pop starlet Billie Piper.
Still making a decent living but hiding what she does from most of her nearst and dearest, Belle/Hannah (Piper) goes from one mess to another. If it isn’t the young upstart ‘Bambi’ who works her way into Belle’s friendship and becomes an unwitting protégé, it’s the buregeoning relationship with Alex, a man for whom she has real feelings.
Trying to avoid telling Alex what she does for as long as possible, Belle’s best friend and confidant Ben convinces her she has to come clean, but the truth still doesn’t come easy.
Fate ensues, suspicion piles on top of deceit and Alex finds Belle out the old fashioned way. With the relationship blowing up and the former rock-solid Ben know telling her he really loves her, Belle wonders if she’s bitten off more than she can chew — so to speak.
It’s all funny and not as risque as you’ll think, being a TV show. Piper gives Belle a surprising maturity given her background as a fluffy kids’ entertainer. The cast are good looking, modern London is well shot and attractive and it’s an entertaining warts-and-all look at The Life.
