Four Minutes
Note to filmmakers; there’s little else you can bring to the determined-teacher-heals-troubled-kid genre. German production Four Minutes tricks you into thinking it’s higher quality than it really is with solid performances, but we’ve seen it all before as a tough old prison piano teacher starts working with the violent, antisocial teenage murderess who just happens to have a staggering musical talent.
Will the teacher show the protégé the love she’s never known? Will the student bring the damaged older soul back to life? Watch a million other movies from Dangerous Minds and Dead Poet’s Society to Freedom Writers to find out. The two interviews with effervescent lead Hannah Herzsprung are interesting and the film’s subtitled.
